Each year, millions of pets wind up in shelters across the USA. I strongly believe this could be avoided if owners were able to select the pet that would be the best fit for their home, lifestyle, and goals and dedicate more time to training after they bring their pet home. Set you and your puppy up for success and watch your new puppy grow up into the dog of your dreams with this package. Your trainer will guide you every step of the way so you can select the best puppy for you and start your puppy off with the training it needs to be a well-mannered dog.

Your trainer will spend the first session getting to know you (and your family) and learning about your expectations and goals for your puppy so she can recommend the best breed or puppy for your needs. Your trainer will provide you with the information and assessments you need to locate the reputable breeder or responsible shelter that can provide you with your new puppy. Once you have found a potential litter or rescue puppy, your trainer will help you assess and temperament test the puppy so you can ensure you are bringing home the puppy you've been looking for. Finally, once your puppy is home, your trainer will meet with you for a training session to help you and your puppy settle happily into life at home.
This package may take place in person or online.

• One 30-60 minute "Get to Know You" session so your trainer can recommend the best dog for you

• One assessment/temperament test of a litter or shelter/rescue pup

• One 60-90 minute Training Consultation/Session to help transition your puppy into your home

• Calls, texts, and emails with Laura King, certified trainer and owner of King's Creatures, during business hours

• The chance to hone your handling skills and proof your pet's obedience through participating in monthly KCAT Pet Socials at pet-friendly businesses throughout the Corridor

Program Cost: $150*

This program is ideal for busy owners looking for their puppy to receive the training and socialization needed to become a well-balanced dog. Canine Kindergarten Camp sessions take place while you are gone for the day. Video updates let you know what your puppy learned and help you to learn too! Every two weeks, a follow-up session with you in your own home ensures that all the training transitions smoothly into your every day life. Field trips visit pet-friendly stores, restaurant patios, parks, shelters, etc. Ideal for puppies to ensure they are well-socialized and avoid behavioral issues. The field trips included in this package ensure that your puppy is able to both learn and master skills in real life situations.​ Each puppy will learn the following:

• Sit-Stay

• Down-Stay

• Loose leash walking

• Place

• Recall

​

These skills will be taught in your home and on leash. Off leash training will begin during this program, and you and your pet will be introduced to the techniques needed to continue training and working towards phasing out the leash and proofing training in a variety of situations.

• 4 Weeks of Camp (Twelve 1.5-2 hour canine kindergarten camp sessions including 6 field trips & socialization with other pets) while you are away
